A Dream Not Imagined blog tour

I am excited to present to you…..

The Fairy Godmother, from A Dream Not Imagined by Shantelle Mary Hannu.

***************

Every Cinderella story has a fairy godmother . . . right? Well, A Dream Not Imagined isn’t magical, so we don’t have wands and magical twinkles. But we do have a sweet, grandmotherly old woman in the story.

She has snow-white hair, a short, round figure, and gentle but wise eyes.

My ‘fairy godmother’ might wear something like these dresses:

If you would you like to get to know this dear woman better, and see her connected with Ellie (Cinderella), then do pick up a copy of A Dream Not Imagined! 🙂

About the Book

A MAID, a PRINCE, and a DUKE. A GARDENER, a STEPMOTHER, and a secret…

Ellie Abbington, a beautiful yet unassuming young woman, quietly longs for her life to change. Too privileged to associate with the servants—too underprivileged to associate with her own family; she dreams a dream of a prince and a happily ever after.

But it could be that her own stepsisters, conniving Dezmarie and easily-influenced Adelaide, are dreaming the same dream…of the same prince.

In the end, are dreams even all they’re made out to be? Especially with deep and long-hidden secrets about to be unearthed?

A Dream Not Imagined is a non-magical fairytale novella based loosely on the classic tale of Cinderella.

A Wish Made of Glass cover reveal

I have another exciting cover reveal for you! This one is for Ashlee Willis’ new novel, A Wish Made of Glass.

image

Deep in a forest glade, the fey folk dance with Isidore, a young human child. Their kinship is the very fabric of her childhood. When her mother dies and her world darkens with sorrow, Isidore finds her belief in the fey folk wavering.

The love of her new step-sister, Blessing, proves an unexpected gift in her time of need. Yet even as their friendship blooms, Isidore begins to see that Blessing is everything she herself has always wanted to be, but is not. Jealousy grips Isidore as she watches this beautiful new sister steal away all she holds dear.
Driven to desperation, Isidore turns to the fey folk once more. She has only one wish to claim from them, one chance to make things right. But she must tread carefully. For wishes, like hearts, are easily broken. And obtaining the one thing she desires could mean destroying the one thing she truly needs.

Irony

I recently found this awesome blog post by Jim Butcher on NaNoWriMo’s Young Writers Program website. I think it is quite possibly the best post on writing that I have ever read. And it is a brilliant example of what I had just read in school about the use of irony in writing.

Beware, sweet, innocent, aspiring writer. People aren’t telling you this, and they should be. NaNoWriMo participants are being deceived into thinking that being an author is a good thing. But you don’t know. You don’t know the horrors you might face as a professional, published, full-time author.

The best part about this post is that it is actually inspiring! It encouraged me to go forth and write! 🙂

You cannot know the horrors you will face! Run! Flee! Turn aside from this dark road!

For if you do not, I fear that one day, you will find yourself writing with other damned souls like me.

Who knows? Maybe I will!
